The prosecution rested its case Thursday in the Karen Read murder retrial. She's accused in the death of her boyfriend and Boston police officer John O'Keefe. The first trial ended with a hung jury.

The prosecution is resting in the second trial of Karen Read after attorneys for the state of Massachusetts took a more streamlined approach to try to prove Read’s guilt in the killing of her Boston police officer boyfriend.

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts on Thursday rested its case in chief in the retrial of Karen Read, who is accused of striking her off-duty Boston police officer boyfriend with her vehicle and leaving him to die in January 2022.
