Major cruise lines are rerouting ships away from Hurricane Erin, which regained power after weakening over the weekend.
Monster Hurricane Erin is causing cruise disruptions, and bringing a lesser-known hurricane hazard to Bahamas beaches.
Carnival Sunshine’s current cruise will sail to the Bahamas instead of Bermuda due to the impact of Hurricane Erin. “Our Fleet Operations Center continues to actively monitor Hurricane Erin,” the company said in a statement sent to guests onboard.
Carnival Sunshine has changed its itinerary to skip Bermuda and will visit the Bahamas instead, remaining well away from Hurricane Erin. Carnival Cruise Line continues to monitor the storm closely and will alert guests on other ships if itinerary adjustments are necessary.
The four Carnival Conquest cruises canceled as a result of the schedule change are Bahamas sailings that were scheduled to depart on Feb. 6, Feb. 9, Feb. 13, and Feb. 16.
