Left-hander Bailey Horn was optioned to Triple-A Toledo. Lange tore the latissimus dorsi tendon (lat) while pitching for Triple-A Toledo on June 14, 2024, and later underwent an avulsion procedure to repair the injury. He began his rehab in June and has logged 15 innings in the minor leagues over the last two months.

According to Evan Woodberry of MLive Media Group, the Tigers are activating Alex Lange from the injured list and optioning Bailey Horn to make room. It's another move to reshuffle the bullpen, which has seen a lot of change in the last few weeks since the trade deadline.
