Wildfire smoke triggers air quality alert across New York

The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services has issued an air quality alert for particle pollution in every county in the state.
Scattered storms are back for Sunday afternoon, primarily between 1 and 7 p.m. Any activity eyeing the tri-state through the afternoon and evening could bring severe storms, damaging winds and flash flooding.
Those living in impacted areas are urged to avoid excess physical exertion, particularly if they belong to a vulnerable group.
Wildfire smoke will continue to spread into Minnesota on Thursday, with an air quality alert in effect until 11 p.m. Friday for most of the state.
The weekend is looking hot and more humid both Saturday and Sunday with only the small chance of a storm on Saturday (mainly north of the metro). Evening and nighttime storms are more likely on Sunday. Temperatures this weekend will reach well into the 80s and lower 90’s both days.
