The Philadelphia Phillies have placed Aaron Nola on the 15-day injured list with a right ankle sprain, the club announced Friday.

Nola, who has a right ankle sprain, will miss time due to injury for the first time since 2017. Abel, a 2020 first-round pick by the Phillies, will make a spot start against Paul Skenes.
