The crash deals a fresh blow to the beleaguered U.S. plane maker, which has been mired by safety and production issues in recent years.

All but one of those on board an Air India flight bound for London Gatwick Airport that crashed shortly after take-off in western India on Thursday have died, the airline has confirmed.

While the authorities initially said no one made it out of the crash alive, the world was stunned to learn that there was, in fact, a sole survivor.
