Took my son to visit on a Saturday. While it’s an important part of MN history, there really isn’t a ton to do or see. Glad we live close so it wasn’t a long drive. Full review by mra3963
We would like to have a picnic after touring Fort Snelling. Should we stay near the fort, or go into the state park?

I'm not certain what Fort Snelling itself has for public amenities, but the state park is very nice and has gazebos, restrooms, picnic tables, biking paths, walking paths, lakes, and rivers.
